Our story

Denmark & the Sunshine Coast

Maeval started with two girls, a pile of hand-me-downs, and a love of really good clothes. The name comes from our eldest, Maeve. Her little sister Norah June has grown into plenty of her clothes, and watching them get worn all over again is the whole idea.

I grew up in Denmark. My husband grew up in Australia with a Danish mum. Now we're raising our two girls somewhere between those worlds: long Danish summer nights and muddy clothes, sandy Australian feet and endless outdoor days. Clothes made well enough to keep up with either, and to last through both.

Childhood isn't meant to be perfect. Grass stains, bare feet, sand and more sand, outfits that stay clean for five minutes. We're here for all of it.

We choose the brands at Maeval because we like what they make and how they make it — the best materials, thoughtful design, clothes that feel as good on the hundredth wear as the first. Clothing first. Toys and homewares to come.
